45265 – Land to the East of Valley Road, Barlow Commonside

Representation ID: 13448

Received: 29/04/2026

Respondent: Campaign to Protect Rural England, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Representation Summary:

This is disproportionate and unsustainable in such a small village with very limited services. The site is within countryside greenbelt, part of the site is within the conservation area and is adjacent to a Local Wildlife site. The site contributes to Crowhole Conservation Area and provides important views to and from this important heritage asset. .Development here would cause permanent damage to the landscape character and important countryside beyond the settlement boundary. The site contributes strongly to the purposes of the greenbelt, should not be considered greybelt in the greenbelt review and is unsuitable for development.

45266 – Land to the North of Millcross Lane, Barlow

Representation ID: 13454

Received: 29/04/2026

Respondent: Campaign to Protect Rural England, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Representation Summary:

The site is within countryside greenbelt and close to the neighbouring Local Wildlife Site. The views from the site strongly contribute to and from the Crowhole Conservation area. A well used public footpath across the site provides access to the community to countryside views and recreation opportunities. Development here would cause permanent damage to the landscape character and important countryside beyond the settlement boundary. The site contributes strongly to the purposes of the greenbelt, should not be considered greybelt in the greenbelt review and is unsuitable for development. We strongly object to this site's inclusion in the Local Plan.

NEDDC Local Plan Issues and Options Consultation on the Strategic Approach to the Location of Development and Refined Sites (March 2026)

45069 – Land to the North of Hemming Green, Old Brampton

Representation ID: 13460

Received: 29/04/2026

Respondent: Campaign to Protect Rural England, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Representation Summary:

This development would be disproportionate and unsustainable as the hamlet has very limited services and facilities. Building on this site would adversely affect open countryside and the development would be outside the settlement boundary creating urban sprawl within the greenbelt. As the site is adjacent to the conservation area development would adversely affect heritage assets' setting. Furthermore the site is adjacent to precious ecological assets - two local wildlife sites and ancient woodland. The site and setting is totally unsuitable for development; it is an unsustainable location, there would be irrevocable harm to open countryside, and would endanger ecological assets.
