MM/106

Representation ID: 10349

Received: 13/01/2021

Respondent: Historic England

Representation:

Historic England supports MM/106 as the proposed modifications reflect our previous comments on Policy SDC7: Scheduled Monuments and Archaeology, made to the North East Derbyshire Local Plan Consultation Draft of February 2017, that the text should be revised to include reference to archaeological desk based assessment and/or field evaluation of the site, being undertaken by a suitably qualified archaeologist.

Historic England also considers that the further proposed modifications to the policy wording will improve clarity and ensure consistency with paragraph 154 of the 2012 NPPF.

Historic England also notes that although the title and wording of the policy has changed to reflect that fact that ‘Scheduled Ancient Monuments’ are now known as ‘Scheduled Monuments’, the Policies Maps still refer in the key to ‘Scheduled Ancient Monuments’, and the key therefore requires modifying accordingly.
