There is no consideration of water quality which has fundamental implications on the impact to the District's watercourses.
The policy should be re-written to include water quality policy wording and introductory text, which is evidenced from the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
The main objective of the WFD is to achieve good ecological status in all
surface water bodies and LP31 could assist this objective.
We recommend that the Districts watercourse network i.e. rivers, streams, ditches, drains and canals are reflected in the policy to enhance and protect their water quality from development and promote their use as wildlife corridors.

Welcome inclusion of the requirement for HRA if development proposals are likely to increase air pollution in the vicinity of a Natura 2000.
Welcome reference to tranquility
Suggest that light pollution should be covered in more detail; it has negative impacts on local amenity, intrinsically dark landscapes and nature conservation. Policy should cross reference to Policy 25.
